Loss of Passport

As a preventive measure, the Indian nationals visiting France should be careful with their valuables while they are in crowded public places like Metro and Railway stations, Airports and tourist destinations.

In cases of loss of passports for the Indian nationals visiting France (on tourist, business etc.), the Embassy issues Short Validity Passports or Emergency Certificates directly at the Embassy.

(Please note that this is not applicable to Indians residing in France. Residents can apply through VFS for reissue of passport under lost category.)'

  • Documents to be attached for issuance of Short Validity Passports (On tourist/business VISA only; in case the applicant intends to visit a country other than India after Schengen area):

    •  Letter of explanation (circumstance under which loss of passport occurred)
    •  Duly filled and signed Annexure F (Click Here)
    •  Copy of police report in r/o lost passport
    •  Copy of passport
    •  Copy of Valid Schengen Visa
    •  Copy of Resident card of the country of return
    • Personal Particular form (will be made available at the Embassy)
    •  Photographs-2 (as per specified format)
    • Fee : 292.00 Euros in cash

    • Letter of explanation (circumstance under which loss of passport occurred)

    • Copy of police report in r/o lost passport
    • Copy of passport
    • Copy of Valid Schengen Visa
    • Photographs-2 (as per specified format)
    • Fee . 14 Euros in Cash
    • Venue for submission:
