1st edition of Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB)

The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA – www.mpeda.gov.in), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Government of India, serves as the key agency for promoting seafood exports. India is one of the leading seafood exporters to the global market and is currently exporting fish products to 123 countries, India exported seafood worth US $7.76 billion during 2024-2025.

MPEDA is organising international trade fairs in India to showcase its aquaculture and seafood processing capabilities. MPEDA will launch the first edition of Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB) at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from 01 to 03 July 2025. It will be an annual event. The Expo will feature exhibition stalls, a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM), tasting sessions, technical sessions, and visits to seafood processing plants and aqua farms Further. the Expo will serve as a comprehensive platform for various stakeholders in the sector, including hatchery operators, feed mill operators, aqua farmers, aquaculture machinery manufacturers, fishers, processors, processing machinery manufacturers, trading agents, technical experts, exporters, and others. The exhibition will accommodate 150 stalls with over 2,500 business delegates from India and abroad.

MPEDA has a successful track record of organising RBSMs, as demonstrated by the India International Seafood Show (IISS) and World Food India (WFI). The previous edition of WFI saw participation from 34 importers across 13 countries, with 43 leading Indian seafood exporters benefiting from the event.

MPEDA would like to invite interested French companies to attend this event in July 2025 and participate in the scheduled RBSM as part of the Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB) 2025. Their visit will ensure the success of this event and will further strengthen India's position in the global seafood market. 

MPEDA will support their visit by facilitating their travel arrangements. MPEDA will reimburse the fare for a return economy-class air ticket for the shortest route (with a maximum limit of USD 2,000). MPEDA will also arrange accommodation near the venue and extend other local hospitality during the event days. MPEDA will also support the visits to processing plants and aqua farms in India.
