The Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) is a nodal organization under the aegis of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India for the promotion of exports of handloom products from India. The prime object of HEPC is to provide all support and guidance to the Indian Handloom exporters and International buyers for trade promotion and international marketing. The handloom industry is one of the oldest and the largest cottage industries in India, representing and preserving the vibrant Indian culture. The strength of the handloom industry lies in the fact that it involves hardly any capital and power, is eco-friendly and suitable for innovation and transformation with respect to market requirements.
