The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), a prestigious organization under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is the seafood export promoter from India and it has established India as one of the leading global seafood exporters, catering to 123 countries. Indian seafood exports reached an all-time high of USD 8.08 Billion during 2022-23.

In order to enhance seafood trade, MPEDA will participate in the esteemed event, World Food India (WFI) 2023, organized by the Ministry of Food Processing and Industries. This event is scheduled from 03-05 November 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India.

MPEDA will organize a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) during WFI 2023. The RBSM will provide a valuable platform for fostering productive business interactions between Indian seafood exporters and international importers.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries will be organizing a Mega Food Event scheduled to be held from 03rd - 05th November, 2023 in New Delhi. The Brochure for the event is attached.

Mega Food Event is an event organized to spread the awareness about the food richness of India, immense scope of investment in India's Food processing sectors covering agriculture, fisheries, dairying and animal husbandry, role of millets in sustainable agriculture & food security and its benefits as super food in the contemporary world. The Government of India, along with State Governments and Union Territories will also highlight a wide range of opportunities, available infrastructure, incentives and benefits. Also, Exhibitions, food street (a specially designed food experiencing arena, buyer-seller meetings, and other events will be held to explore B2B/G engagements and cross-sector cooperation.

2nd edition of ‘World Food India 2023’ is being organized during 3-5 November 2023 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi for facilitating partnership between Indian and foreign investors. Recognising the potential of food processing sector in transforming India as the food basket of the world, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India has adopted measures to channelise investments in food processing subsegments. This includes backward linkages, food processing equipment, processing related R&D, cold chain storage solutions, start-ups, logistic & retail chains, encompassing the entire food processing value chain.
With the objective of introducing the world to rich Indian food culture as well as promoting investments in the diverse food processing sector of the country, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries launched the first edition of World Food India in 2017. In view of celebrating 2023 as the International Year of Millets and to bring global food processing industry together, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries is organising the second edition ‘World Food India 2023'’.

World Food India 2023 is a promising platform to showcase, connect, collaborate in retail, processing, technology transfer, manufacturing and cold chain logistics along with global value food chain. 
Considering the potential of the agriculture and food processing sector to transform India into the world's food basket, Ministry of Commerce and Industry is organizing a reverse Buyer Seller Meet during ‘World Food India 2023’. The RBSM will be an opportunity for Indian exporters and international buyers to have B2B meetings for sourcing agriculture and processed food products from India and also discuss possible collaboration. Major emphasis shall be given on export promotion of Agricultural and Processed food products including Shree Anna (Millets), Marine, Spices, Tea, Coffee products.
