NOTICE

Withdrawal of PIO to OCI Conversion Facility

It is hereby informed that, with effect from 31 December 2025, the facility for conversion of PIO Cards to OCI Cards has been withdrawn.

All PIO Cardholders seeking OCI status are required to submit a fresh application for e-OCI registration and pay the applicable fee of €255, comprising:

• OCI Fee: €252
• ICWF Fee: €3

Applicants are advised to refer to the e-OCI guidelines and ensure that all required documents are submitted along with the application.

Important Points:

1. Know your correct jurisdiction before applying and ensure you apply at the correct Embassy or the Consulate General of India.

2. An ICWF surcharge of EUR 3 shall be levied on all OCI services and must be paid along with the OCI fee, as specified in the fee details section.

3. Applicants can visit the Embassy only with prior appointments and must visit at the designated date and time only, as per the appointment confirmation. Please click here

4. Kindly ensure you reach the Embassy 15 minutes prior to your appointment time for entry formalities at the gate.

5. Fees for all services can be paid in cash/card at the time of submission of documents.

6. Applicants must ensure all supporting documents, along with the document checklist, are submitted. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please bring all required original documents for verification.

7. For minor applicants, documents can be attested by parents.

8. The online application for OCI must be completed online as described in the OCI Services section.

9. All personal particulars / data entries of the OCI application should match the current passport. The names of parents & spouse should match as mentioned in their Indian Passport.

10. During the online form filling on the OCI portal, all supporting documents should be uploaded before submitting the application at the Embassy of India, Paris (kindly choose any of the available options from the dropdown if the uploading document type is not available). If any of the supporting documents are not uploaded, the application will be rejected. A detailed checklist of documents can be checked here

11. After online submission of the application form, no changes can be made manually or by scribbling over the form. In case of any error / changes, please fill a fresh new online application form.
